@andrew_ranger •@NASCARHomeTrack •@GP3R • #NASCARPintysSeries • Trois Rivieres, QC (August 14, 2016)-  Andrew Ranger looked to continue his remarkable success at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres this past weekend. The driver of the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge has won four times and finished second in four others prior to this past weekend’s event. Ranger kept his streak alive with a runner up finish and extended his lead in the overall championship point standings.

During Saturday practice Ranger piloted the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge to very fast laps in both sessions. He would record the third fastest qualifying lap and start the 50-lap event on the inside of row two.

“I didn’t want to do too many laps, I wanted to save the car for the race” stated Ranger.

As the green flag waved on Sunday afternoon Ranger was immediately looking for opportunities to move up, but when none presented themselves he kept the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge in third spot, close enough to strike when the opportunity did appear.

That chance would come during the restart following the second full course caution period. Seizing the moment Ranger pushed the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge into the second position.

“He made a small mistake and I was able to get around him on that restart” explained the driver.

Ranger then set his sights on the race leader and pushed the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge hard to close the gap but was unable to gain top spot in the time remaining.

Crossing the finish line with his fourth consecutive runner-up finish at Trois-Rivieres Ranger was pleased with the great work by the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team.

“They gave me a great car to drive, very consistent all day” he stated. “We didn’t get the win but we had a good points day and that helps us in the championship” he added.

After eight races Andrew Ranger leads the overall championship by five points.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team are back in action next this coming Saturday August 20th at Riverside International Speedway near Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
