LONDON, ON – Pete Shepherd III will be back behind the wheel in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series for the 2018 season. Shepherd last participated in 2013 when he collected two victories, one second, and a DNF in just four starts. Last season Shepherd partook in select APC Series and Outlaw Super Late Model races across Ontario.
Pete Shepherd will be joining forces with Team Owner Jim Bray, and is excited about his opportunity. “Jim and I connected during the Holiday Season and we both aligned our expectations for this year. I would love to be the driver who puts Jim in Victory Lane and I think we can do it!”
This will mark first time since 2004 that Pete Shepherd III will run full time in the top division in Canada.
Shepherd stated that his limited schedule last year in Pro Late Models, and Outlaw Super Late Models, really helped get him back into form.
“Last season, we turned laps in some top notch McColl prepared race cars. We had some solid finishes at the front of the pack against really strong competition, and we want to carry that momentum into this season. It is extremely important to consistently run up front every race if you want to contend for a championship. I look forward to showcasing my skills not only on ovals, but road courses as well. I believe that setting this plan to run every event throughout the year will put us in a better place during the latter half of the season.”
Pete Shepherd III will make his first start of the 2018 season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday, May 20.
The team will take to the track with support from National Exhaust, Trailers by Jim Bray, Epic Race Wear and driven4communications.
