Halifax, NS – (July 3, 2022) Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) picked up his first win of the season today in front of a home crowd at Oyster Bed Speedway. The win is Proude’s first Series victory since 2017.
Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) gave Proude a run for his money in the final laps but came up just short and had to settle for second. Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside, NS) spent some time in front of the pack and was in the mix all day but came home third. Mike Rodgers (Moncton, NB) and Jarrett Butcher (Porters Lake, NS) rounded out the top five.
Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races kicked off Pro Stock action on the track. Smith Jr, Proud and Slaunwhite won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Fleetrite 150.
Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) took home the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger award. Proude won the R&D Performancentre Most Laps Led Award. There was no Fleet Brake Atlantic Lucky Dog winner.
The East Coast Mini Stock Tour kicked off the racing card and put on a great show for fans. Mitchell Montgomery (Summerside, PE) was first under the checkers. The Maritime League of Legends were also on the racing card which saw Danny Chisholm (Canning, NS) as the victor of the 50-lap feature.
The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour returns to action for the Irving Oil 150 on July 9th at Petty International Raceway, located just outside of Moncton in River Glade, NB. Racing action gets underway at 4:00pm.
