STROUD, ON (June 12, 2018)- Battling hard in both features on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Paul Maltese was able to score his sixth top-10 finish of 2018.
The first feature saw him run fifth through the beginning portion, dropping back a spot to sixth at Lap 23. He’d battle hard through the remaining 12 laps, ultimately crossing the finish line in seventh.
Starting third for the second feature, he’d slip back to fifth in the early stages, though managed to escape getting involved in an incident ahead of him at Lap 10 to move up two spots to third. Following the restart, he would drop back quickly through the field, ultimately coming to a stop for the second caution in turn two at Lap 16 for a flat tire. He would make his way down pit road, getting the tire changed, before returning to the field. Restarting from the tail of the field, he was unable to make up much ground in the final stages, crossing the finish line in 11th.
The team will hope to run in the top-10 once again on Saturday, June 16 in the next night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model competition at Sunset Speedway. Maltese currently ranks seventh in the standings following four nights of racing.
