STROUD, ON (May 25, 2018)- So far the season is going as planned for Paul Maltese as he was able to put together another solid feature on Monday night, en route to a top-10 finish at Sunset Speedway.
Right from the start of the night, Maltese was solid, set to third for the 75-lap feature. He would fade back in the opening stages, battling for sixth with Josh Stade. The fade would continue, with Maltese ultimately running ninth by the 20th lap of the event.
The handling of the No. 9 Late Model would seem to be off during the early stages, as Maltese ultimately found himself just outside of the top-10 by Lap 30. However, the veteran didn’t give up, keeping himself in contention and gaining a couple spots, including missing an incident ahead of him between a pair of competitors to make his way back into the top-10.
Restarting seventh with 15 laps to go, he’d drop back a couple spots over the final run, crossing the finish line in ninth.
The team will hope to run in the top-10 once again on Saturday, May 26 in the next night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model competition at Sunset Speedway. Maltese currently ranks seventh in the standings following two nights of racing.
