Stroud, ON (July 10, 2017)- After a pair of top-10’s last weekend, Paul Maltese did not have the night he wanted at Sunset Speedway on Saturday.
Starting 19th for the first 35-lap feature, he was unable to make much ground through the first half, using the first caution at Lap 26 to head down pit road for adjustments. Restarting 16th, he was unable to make up much ground after the restart, finishing 16th.
Starting 15th for the second 35-lap feature, he escaped the two early incidents without any damage, moving up to 14th by the third caution on Lap 5. From there, he did not make up much ground, and took advantage of the yellow flag with 17 laps to go to make more adjustments. Restarting tail of the field, he was unable to make up any ground through the final half of the feature, crossing the finish line in 14th.
While there have been some rough notes throughout the year, he has posted six top-10 finishes to date, including a pair of top-fives. He will look to continue running strong on July 22 in the next night of competition at Sunset Speedway.
