Mont-Tremblant, QC, (October 2nd, 2019) – Patrick Dussault looked back at his strong 2019 season, as he finished on a good note last weekend, at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, scoring a podium finish and a top five in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama.
His Lauzon Autosport n°77 Porsche GT3 Cup was fast throughout the weekend, after an week-week break in the series. Fourth in both practice sessions on Friday, Dussault kept his good pace for qualifying, which took place under heavy rain, placing fifth.
Fourth on the starting grid for Saturday’s race after a competitor received a penalty, he carried good speed throughout the race. He took the third spot right on the first lap and never looked back. He achieved his fifth podium finish of the 2019 season with the Lauzon Autosport n°77 Porsche GT3 Cup.
“Qualifying and racing on wet conditions weren’t easy, but I think that I made the best of the situation. I am proud to achieve another podium finish in 2019,” explained the driver of the Lauzon Autosport n°77 Porsche GT3 Cup.
On Sunday, Patrick Dussault started the 45-minute race from the fourth place. He managed to keep his position and to do consistent and quick laps for most of the race. With only a few laps to go, he had to concede the fourth spot, but still kept his place in the top five.
“It is a very fast track and I fought hard to keep the pace. A podium finish and a top five ends my 2019 season on a good note. We have pulled out a strong team effort this weekend,” said Dussault.
After 12 rounds, Patrick Dussault takes the fourth rank in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama drivers’ standings. Lauzon Autosport also achieves a fourth place in the teams’ standings.
“We showed great evolution throughout the year and we achieved good results in 2019 with Lauzon Autosport and GT Racing team. I think it’s just a glimpse of what we can achieve next year,” he concluded.
