August 3rd

Barrie Speedway

Veteran ‘Hometown’ Mike Brown earned his 2nd straight Ltd. Late Model feature win on Saturday night, piloting chassis wizard Peter Schotanus’ house car to victory lane in the first of twin 30-lap feature events, holding off sophomore Andre Pepin, 3-time track champion Ian Bourque, Ron Quesnelle and John Gaunt for the honor.

In the nightcap, ‘The Hillsdale Hurricane’ Thayne Hallyburton continued his incredible sophomore campaign, winning his 4th feature in less than a month, holding off point leader Gord Shepherd, former titlist Al Inglis, Ron Quesnelle and John Gaunt.

In Thunder Car action, Travis Hallyburton utilized his feature victory to vault himself into a tie for the divisional point lead, alongside former champion Darryl St. Onge, who finished in the runner-up position. Former Autumn Colours Classic champion Dave Doucette, Rick Walt and rookie Bryan Penny completed the top-5.

Doug Butler swept the evening’s Mini Stock heats and features.

Flamboro Speedway

Former Late Model champion Paul Howse won the 30-lap feature on Saturday night. Chris Howse won the Thunder Car event, Blake Bomberry won in Pro-4 Modified competition and Dave Bailey turned in another dominant performance in the Mini Stock division.

Peterborough Speedway

Danny Benedict toppled a 19-car field to win August 3rd’s Mini Stock feature. The Orono, ON driver took over the top spot after an engine failure removed second-generation star Brandt Graham from contention on lap-12. Farm Bro Racing representative Ryan Oosterholt and Capital City Speedway veteran Kyle Baker joined Benedict on the podium.

Tyler Junkin won the Renegade Truck feature and Griffen Powell captured his second straight Four Fun division win.

Sauble Speedway

Defending track champion Scott McTeer further padded his point lead over rival Jason Parker with an August 3rd feature win.

Former champion Todd Davenport won the Thunder Car division’s A-Main.

Sunset Speedway

Defending track champion Stompin’ Tom Walters won his 3rd feature of the 2013 season on August 3rd. The Bradford, ON veteran outran perennial rival – and defending Autumn Colours Classic champion – Dwayne Baker, ‘The Instant Classic’ Andy Kamrath, ‘The Frequent Flyer’ Sean Grosman and Anthony Simone for the victory.

In Super Stock competition, point leader Randy ‘The Rocket’ Rusnell won an ugly rough-and-tumble 30-lap affair, followed by ‘The Munster’ Donny Munce and Dan Archibald.

14-year old phenom ‘The Astronaut’ Brandon McFerran won the night’s 25-lap Mini Stock contest.

Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midget

Adrian Stahle won a caution-free TQ Can-Am Midget affair on Saturday at Sauble Speedway, working to the front from his 6th place starting position. The sophomore slipped past early leader Darren McLennan on lap-9 and cruised home to victory lane. The race was contested in under 6 minutes. Veteran David Balych, McLennan, 2-time feature winner Corey Moesker and defending champion Rob Neely completed the top-5.

OSCAAR Modified Tour

Inaugural OSCAAR Modified Tour champion Gary McLean won his second straight feature event on Saturday night at Peterborough Speedway. The triumph would come on the heels of a fierce race-long battle with cousin – and current point leader – Brent McLean, and marked his 3rd trip to victory lane this season. McLean started from the pole position and led all 30-laps, guaranteeing himself an inside pole starting position at October’s Autumn Colours Classic in the process. Rookie Shane Stickel turned in a phenomenal performance for a second place finish, while Brent McLean finished 3rd.

OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour

Defending tour champion Brandon Watson earned his 4th win of the 2013 season at Peterborough, in a dominant flag-to-flag performance. The 20-year old held off rookie Andrew Gresel and 2007 tour champion Derrick Tiemersma for all 50-laps. Watson will enter Sunday’s (August 11th) event at Kawartha Speedway with a 25-point lead over Tiemersma in the tour standings.

August 4th

Sauble Speedway

Current Flamboro Speedway point leader Shawn Chenoweth won his first career ‘Beat The Heat 150’ on Sunday night, holding off second-generation Pro Late Model standout Dale Shaw and former BTH-champion Jesse Kennedy. Chenoweth adds Sauble’s prestige event to his growing list of Crown Jewel victories that already includes Peterborough’s Autumn Colours Classic and Flamboro’s Oktoberfest.

Jaymee Adams won her first career Street Stock feature and Kevin Bridge was victorious in Mini Stock competition.

Sunset Speedway

Stompin’ Tom Walters led all but 3 laps of Sunday’s ‘Dilley Dog 75′ invitational, to complete his weekend sweep of Ltd. Late Model competition. For the second night in a row, Autumn Colours Classic champion Dwayne Baker would follow Walters to the stripe, with Stompin’ Tom Motorsports stable-mate Sean Grosman rounding out the top-3.

Randy ‘The Rocket’ Rusnell won the 50-lap Super Stock event, and was joined on the podium by Dan Archibald and ‘The Thrillbilly’ Lane Zardo.

2-time champion Doug Butler won the evening’s 35-lap Mini Stock contest.

Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midgets

Sophomore Adrian Stahle went 2-for-2 at Sauble Speedway over the long weekend, triumphing over Darren McLennan and Adam Racine on Sunday night.
