SAINT-EUSTACHE, QC – Kevin Lacroix is heading to the brand new Jukasa Motor Speedway complex on Saturday, September 23rd for the NASCAR Pinty’s last race of the season. It is during the Pinty’s Fall Brawl 200 that the series will race for the first time on this freshly renovated track.
Formerly called Cayuga Speedway, this track has history. The complex was entirely renovated to include a state-of-the-art building and a new tarmac. It is on a 1 km (0.624 miles) oval that the drivers of the NASCAR Pinty’s series will compete.
The driver of car #74 Bumper To Bumper/ Total/ Go Fast / PFC Brakes/ Gates Corporation had tests on this track last week. Kevin was feeling confident before the testing because it is a fast and long oval, which he loves. Unfortunately, the tests didn’t go as expected for the team. “It wasn’t our best testing day. We were not very fast, but in the last 5 minutes of the track day, we found a great set-up. Now we have to make sure it works well so we’ll go to St-Eustache to test it out. As for the race, it is hard to predict what is going to happen.”
Kevin still hopes to clinch his first victory on oval at Jukasa. This year, he almost won a few races, but bad luck and special circumstances decided otherwise. Grabbing pole position at the Autodrome Saint-Eustache two weeks ago, the local driver was not able to hold his first position. “We will work hard for a chance to win, but since it is the last race of the season, I would be very happy with a podium finish as well.”
For Kevin, winning the championship is not possible anymore, but he has to finish 18th or higher to secure the Vice-Champion title. “I think that now that the positions are pretty much secured in the Top 3, there is less tension in the paddocks. I hope it’s going to be a clean race,” says the driver.
“This will be my last race of the season and I would like to be able to give an oval victory to all my partners”. Kevin wants to thank his sponsors’ Bumper to Bumper, Total, Go Fast, PFC Brakes and Gates Corporation, a partnership between growing companies that represent excellence, ambition, and victory.
The Pinty’s Fall Brawl 200 will be broadcast on TSN Sunday, October 1st at 11:30 a.m., and on RDS Friday, October 20th at 9:30 p.m.
