PORT ELGIN, ON- Sophomore Ltd. Late Model hotshoe ‘Livewire’ Nick Goetz will join the rest of the Sauble Speedway roster as they head to Sunset for Round 2 of the lauded ‘Home and Home Series’ contested between the two speedplants.
Goetz has enjoyed a number of stellar runs through the first half of the 2013 season, and will enter July 13th’s event hungry for his first career victory, at a speedway he’s worked feverishly to acclimate himself to.
“We’ve made two trips to Sunset already this season, solely to prepare for this event”, explained Goetz. “There’s alot on the line, representing Sauble Speedway means so much to my team and I, and if we could earn our first career win against the type of talent we’ll be racing against, it’ll be a moment I’ll never forget”
‘Livewire’ last appeared at Sunset on June 16th, turning heads with a 6th place time trialing effort, before a mechanical issue robbed the team of a strong finish.
“We had an amazing car the last time out at Sunset, and plan on implementing a similar setup on July 13th, I’m confident we’ll be in contention all afternoon long to make a trip to victory lane”
The Port Elgin, ON driver confirmed earlier this season that the team will race for a championship at Sunset in 2014, and is currently formulating a plan to run a number of weekly races at the 3/8 mile oval in August of this season.
“We’re not racing for a championship at Sauble this season, and the plan right now is to run quite a few additional events at Sunset in August as we prepare for our fulltime run in 2014”
