PORT ELGIN, ON – Sophomore competitor Nick Goetz and the NG Motorsports team has confirmed a pair of high-profile appearances at Sunset Speedway this weekend. Goetz will enlist NASCAR Canadian Tire Series star Jason Hathaway, to join him in at the Innisfil, ON oval to compete against some of the biggest names in Ltd. Late Model racing.
“I’m looking forward to this weekend more than anything we’ve done as a team all season long”, exclaimed Goetz as his NG Motorsports crew put the final touches on his McColl Racing Enterprises chassis.
“Sunset has become our favourite track. Our car works incredibly well there, the facility is top notch and the competition is second to none. I can’t think of anywhere I’d sooner spend my long weekend”
Saturday night’s event, a weekly 30-lap contest for Sunset regulars, will see Goetz look to follow-up his recent string of top-10 finishes, as he battles top-tier drivers Tom Walters, Mike Bentley and Dwayne Baker, with Jason Hathaway filling the role of crew chief for the evening.
“Jason [Hathaway] has been such a boost to our program. We communicate so well with one another, he’s taught me a lot about how to set the car up, how to drive it and about the racing industry in general. He’s the best mentor I could’ve asked for when I bought this car last season”
Hathaway will step down from the pit box and into the cockpit on Sunday evening, when he competes in the NG Motorsports No. 24 in Sunset’s ‘Dilley Dog 75’ invitational. The event is expected to draw entries from across the province, and Hathaway is eager to compete for his first career Sunset International Speedway win.
“Nick has assembled a great group of guys. NG Motorsports has a phenomenal crew, and top-notch equipment. I can’t wait to get back on track at Sunset. We’ll be heading for victory lane”, said Hathaway.
