MIRABEL, QC – JUNE 3, 2012 – The Montreal-based driver fulfilled one of his racing goals as well as dream by reaching the finish in the second race of the NCATS season, in his Bonzaï Racing Dodge.

Ray was proud of his performance as well as that of his team members. “Everyone worked hard to rebuild the car after my accident at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park two weeks ago. We had engine problems yesterday and everyone had to work hard Saturday night and early this morning.”

The race was no picnic for Jr. “We did not get to test our dry suspension settings as it rained on Saturday. My engine misfired badly throughout the race and cut out completely on some left turns. This meant that I had to pass a lot of people twice when they made their way back past as the engine lost power. I hung in there to finish the race on the lead lap. The team did a great job, and I also want to thank all our partners, Construction Danan Bonzaï, Porto Cabral, Rotisserie Benny and Boston Pizza.”

The NCATS now goes over to the small oval at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in two weeks. Ray Jr. is looking forward to that event. “I started racing on ovals and look forward to racing our new oval Car. Running on the high banks at Bristol this past April will certainly help me do well on this new track.” In the meantime, Ray Jr. will be racing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve next weekend in the Formula Tour 1600, a support race for the Canadian Grand Prix. These single seaters are much lighter and less powerful than NCATS cars, but still exceed 200 km/hr on the main straightaway.
