ANTIGONISH, NS (August 19, 2018)- Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) returned to action this past Sunday for round number nine of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at Riverside International Speedway near Antigonish, Nova Scotia this past Sunday.

Drivers Brett Taylor, Larry Jackson and making her first ever start in the series Julia Landauer strapped in for an expected 300-laps of racing. Sadly mechanical issues would plague two of the three, Taylor though would persevere with a difficult handling car and just missed out on a top ten finish.

The race was originally scheduled for Saturday night, however rain showers would postpone the event and make for a compressed Sunday schedule with only 30 minutes of practice time. During the session Landauer battled a carburetor issue in the #1 CBRT Dodge but still logged as many laps as possible to get comfortable with the car.

When the race began Jackson would run strong in the #25 CBRT car but a suspension issue would force him to pit road just past the midway point and ultimately end his day.

Landauer showed tremendous poise and held her own with the many experienced drivers in the field. Landauer had the #1 CBRT Dodge in the top ten after the lap 200 mark of the race before a broken axle would cause her afternoon to end early.

Working hard for the entire race distance in the #46 CBRT Dodge, Brett Taylor muscled his tight handling racecar to the finish and claimed an 11thplace result.

Despite the frustrations CBRT General Manager Joey McColm was pleased with much of what he saw this past weekend.

“I can’t say enough good things about how well Julia performed” he said. “Barely any practice and she looked really good in a car that’s so new to her. I can’t wait for her to show even more next weekend”.

“It’s a shame Larry had that issue, he was having a really good day. And Brent showed real grit handling that car to the end. The whole team showed a real determined effort, we’re pretty excited to get back at it next weekend,” he added.

The CBRT drivers are back in action next this coming weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, ON as part of the NASCAR Truck Series weekend. CBRT drivers will hit the track Saturday August 25thfor practice and qualifying and race Sunday August 26th. For the latest info & team updates follow @CBRTeams on Instagram and Facebook.
