Sunset Speedway Ltd. Late Model champion Mike Bentley has announced his intentions to compete in the 28th running of the lauded Snowflake 100 at Pensacola, Florida’s historic 5 Flags Speedway.
Bentley, a karting standout turned Late Model front-runner, will campaign a Grand American Race Cars-built chassis out of the shop of Mount Forest, ON’s Streamline Race Products. Shaun McWhirter, founder of SRP, will play a key role in Bentley’s inaugural trip to the Florida ½ mile.
“My whole team is so excited for this opportunity. Shaun [McWhirter] and I have spoken a lot about putting something together for this event, and all the pieces are starting to fall into place”, said Bentley.
The Guelph, ON driver enters his preparations for the biggest Pro Late Model event in North America whilst riding a wave of momentum, after capturing his second career Autumn Colours Classic title at Peterborough Speedway in early October, an event that saw Bentley lead all 113-laps en route to victory.
“We’ve had so much success in Ontario these last 3 seasons, I can’t wait to see where I stack up against some of the best talent in North America. This is going to be our biggest challenge by far, but I’m confident that we can put together a package capable of competing alongside the best”
‘Lights Out’ will look to become the first Canadian winner of the Snowflake 100 event, scheduled for December 7th, the eve of 5 Flags Speedway’s legendary Snowball Derby Super Late Model race.
“We’re headed for Florida with the intentions of representing everyone back home. It’s tough enough just to make it into the show, but we’re heading down with full intentions of becoming the first Canadian team to ever win it”
Sponsorship packages are available for any business or charity looking to support the Bentley Motorsports team. Interested parties can contact Mike via Twitter @MikeBentley51 and be sure to follow Streamline Race Products on Twitter @StreamlineRace.
