Schererville, IN- Brandon Watson’s third appearance with the ARCA/CRA Super Series was unceremoniously cut short, when a rear brake caliper bracket broke, ending his race on lap-27.
“This is definitely a tough pill to swallow”, offered a dejected Watson post-race. “We felt as though we had a good setup coming into this race, but we just couldn’t put it together today”
After qualifying 19th, Watson worked quickly to advance his position at the start of the 150-lap contest.
“The car was responding positively early on”, said Watson. “We were able to pick up a few positions before we developed a tight condition in the center of the corner. From there, we were just trying to ride and hold on before the bolt in the caliper bracket broke”
Watson will not have long to dwell on his misfortunes, as his team will return to action at Berlin Raceway this Saturday, May 31st.
“No amount of strategy can protect against a parts failure”, explained Watson. “We’re already looking towards Berlin. It’s a quick turnaround, so there’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We’ll be ready for Berlin”
Brandon’s efforts at Berlin were made possible thanks to the continued support from
Shear Metal Products, Royal Distributing, Barrie Frame & Alignment, The Smart Exchange and Knightworks Designs. Additional packages are still available.
