LONDON, ON- After a convincing win in Round 1 of Flamboro’s Grisdale Triple Crown Tournament on June 14th, Late Model heavyweight Matt Pritiko is ready to return to Delaware Speedway for the lauded ‘Canada Day 100’.
“Delaware’s Canada Day show is always one of the biggest Pro Late Model races of the season”, says Pritiko, “it’s just one of those races that you know is going to draw a great crowd and a lot of tough competition. It’s a race everyone wants to win”
This season, the Canaday Day 100 will carry added interest, as it serves as the second leg of the Delaware vs. Flamboro ‘APC Six Pack Series’. Pritiko logged a top-3 finish in the opening leg of the mini-series at Flamboro on May 24th, and feels confident that his team can keep their momentum rolling on home turf.
“I absolutely love the Six Pack Series concept, I can’t wait to welcome the Flamboro drivers to Delaware”, smiles Pritiko. “We had a good car at Flamboro, and brought home a finish that was a lot better than we had initially anticipated. Now that the series is back at Delaware, we’re definitely hoping to put ourselves on the board and rattle off the first win for Team Delaware”
Pritiko will enter June 27th’s event second in Delaware Speedway points, and hopes a strong run will open the door to slip past early-season leader Mark Watson.
“We’ve been the perennial bridesmaids in the point standings, here”, laughs Pritiko. “It’s getting old. We’re hoping to kick that this season. I feel like we’re on a bit of a hot streak right now, so hopefully we can find a way past Mark [Watson] and cruise into July leading the standings”
