LONDON, ON- Fresh off of his runner-up finish in Delaware Speedway’s season opener on June 6th, Matt Pritiko has announced his intentions on competing in Flamboro Speedway’s Grisdale Triple Crown event on June 14th.
“I love big races like the Triple Crown”, said Pritiko, “there’s something about these events that just seem to bring out the best in our team”
“There’s a certain atmosphere at one of these high-prestige events. You feel it as soon as you walk through the gates. It pushes you to come with your absolute best effort”
Pritiko is well-versed in big events, having won his first Crown Jewel last September, in the 32nd running of Delaware Speedway’s Great Canadian 200.
“Winning the Great Canadian was one of the biggest moments of my career”, smiled Pritiko. “It’s definitely going to take that kind of effort to win the opening round of the Triple Crown. Flamboro’s an incredibly demanding track, with some top tier talent”
“We’ll have to be on our game to take a win away from guys like Shawn Chenoweth and David Elliott that race there on a regular basis”
Prior to this weekend, Pritiko’s experience at Flamboro has been limited, with two career trips to the Hamilton-area oval – highlighted by a top-3 finish in a ‘APC Six Pack Series’ race on May 24th – to his credit.
“I think we had an awesome car when we were last there in May”, explained Pritiko. “We worked throughout the day to dial it in, because we really didn’t know where we needed to be with this chassis. With a top-3 finish in our pocket, I’m confident we can put together an even better car for Saturday”
Round 1 of the Grisdale Triple Crown will roll off this Saturday, June 14th at 6:00pm. Gate times and ticket prices can be found at www.FlamboroSpeedway.net
