BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – (May 20, 2018) L.P. Dumoulin, of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec won Sunday’s NASCAR Pinty’s Series Clarington 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, part of the Castrol presents Victoria Day SpeedFest weekend.

Marc-Antoine Camirand, of Saint-Leonard-d’Aston, finished second with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Noah Gragson, of Las Vegas, Nevada in third.

Dumoulin, in the No. 47 WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge, started second behind pole sitter Kevin Lacroix in the No. 74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Go Fast Dodge. Lacroix led from the green flag and headed the field for 41 of the 51 event laps. But contact on the last lap of the race between Lacroix and Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, Que., in the No. 27 Mopar/Pennzoil/Mopar Express Land Dodge in Turn 5b opened the door for Dumoulin to score his third CTMP victory and fifth of his career. The victory also marked Dumoulin’s first win since Trois-Rivieres in 2014. Camirand, in the No. 22 GM Paille Chevrolet and Gragson, in the No. 28 Switch Dodge crossed the line after Dumoulin.

In Pirelli World Challenge action, Portugal’s Alvaro Parente, in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3 won Sunday’s Round 2 GT race.

Next up on the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park schedule is the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix, June 15 – 17, Father’s Day weekend. The 39th Annual Vintage Racing Festival features three days of racing including the Formula 5000 Revival Series, which brings the popular open wheeled class launched in 1968 back to one of its iconic circuits to mark the championship’s 50th anniversary.
