Velle-Jonction, QC (June 25, 2017)-  Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge finally got a good weather day to hit the track for round number three of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Autodrome Chaudière in Valle Jonction, Quebec on Sunday afternoon. Ranger was pursuing a top-five result before a late race spin relegated him back to ninth.

The twice postponed by weather event had a tight race day schedule and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team had only 45 minutes of practice to prepare the car. Ranger posted times in the middle of the field and his qualifying session put him on the outside of row three to start the 300 lap race.

“The car was pretty good, it’s tough with only a short amount of practice, but we knew we had a long race and had the chance to move up” said Ranger.

When the green flag waved Ranger did push his #27 Mopar Parts Dodge quickly into the top five. The race ran under green flag conditions until a spin at the midway point. Ranger would make a scheduled pit stop for fuel, tires and adjustments to his racecar.

“The first half we wanted to stay near the front and see what kind of changes to make for the second part of the race” explained Ranger.

Things got a little more hectic in the second half of the race with Ranger having to fight for every position. The #27 Mopar Parts team called Ranger to pit road again during another caution period with just over 60 laps remaining.

“As the race went on everyone pushed a little harder and we wanted to make some further adjustments,” said the driver.

Pushing hard in the closing laps Ranger spun on lap 299 sending the race into overtime. He quickly righted the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge and following the final restart would cross the finish line in ninth position.

“It’s a very tight track and you have to work for every position and that’s what I was doing but the car went around. Still we picked up some points and are in a good position in the championship,” said Ranger.

After three events Andrew Ranger sits fourth in the championship standings.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team get back in action Saturday July 8th at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec.
