@HyundaiCanada • @BlanchetRacing • @CTCCracing • BRAMPTON, ON – Final plans are in place for the newly formed team Hyundai Genesis Racing and Late Break Racing. Bob Attrell’s stable of Hyundai Genesis Coupes will form an alliance with perennial CTCC Touring Class standout Blanchet Motorsports.

Team Hyundai Genesis Racing with Blanchet Motorsports came together in early December to discuss the opportunity of combining resources to strengthen both teams’ on-track presence and provide sponsors added value.

“It was a win-win situation,” said Bob Attrell. “My champion and race winning Genesis Coupes are proven equipment coupled with the infrastructure and expertise of the Blanchet Motorsports Group made it an easy decision and I look forward to returning to the hotly contested Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC)”.

“You see these types of alliances in NASCAR quite often,” says Frank Blanchet. “And most of them work quite well. The timing was perfect for me and my team to do this, and like Bob said, it was an easy decision and a win-win situation for all involved.”

The last decision to make was the final driving opening in the Super Class machines. This will be filled by 12 race CTCC winner and two times Champion of the Touring Class – Damon Sharpe.

“I’m thrilled to be named driver of the 84 car Hyundai Genesis Coupe,” said Sharpe. “I’ve always admired this car and after watching Sasha Anis, Bob and Jonathan Rashleigh who were extremely successful in them I know I will have the opportunity to perform well.”
