Saint-Eustache, QC, (July 24 2017)- Kevin Lacroix will be on the track in Saskatchewan on July 26 for two 100-lap races in the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s presented by Bayer in NASCAR Pinty’s. A few days later, he will be back on the track for the Luxxur 300 presented by Bayer at the Edmonton International Speedway (July 29). After winning this season’s three races on road courses, Kevin is presently in 1st place in the Drivers’ Championship with 222 points, namely 13 points more than the runner up, Alex Labbé.
This year’s Saskatoon race has a different format with two 100-lap events for Wednesday night’s event, with a 2h30 break between the two races. The one who has the best time in the first 100-lap race will be in pole position for the second race. Seen as two separate races, the two 100-lap races count for the Drivers’ Championship.
“I love this track,” says Kevin. “In my opinion, it is one of the best oval tracks we have”. In 2016, Lacroix had not obtained a great result, finishing 8th. This year, he hopes for his first win on an oval track. “I have no doubt that it will go well, we have had time to work on the car since the last oval race at Valley Junction,” says the driver of car #74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Go Fast/PFC Brakes/Gates Corporation.
Kevin apprehends the race at the Edmonton International Speedway because he had qualified in first position last year before having to abandon at the 198th lap. “It’s a track with no incline which is not always easy,” says Lacroix.
This will be a 300-lap race for the NASCAR Pinty’s drivers in Edmonton. There will be three events in three days, so it will be key for Kevin and the Bumper to Bumper team to manage the races for this sprint.
Kevin wishes to thank his sponsors Bumper To Bumper, Total, Go Fast, PFC Brakes and Gates Corporation , a partnership between companies which reflects excellence, ambition and victory.
“In Saskatoon, we are expecting many Bumper to Bumper employees and stakeholders and it will be a great event with knowledgeable and passionate people there.”
