Trois-Rivières, QC (June 27, 2018)– Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, along with every member of the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team, always enjoy racing at home, in front of fans and family.
Everyone is looking forward to a competitive and always spectacular show at the Autodrome Chaudière (Vallée-Jonction) this coming Saturday, June 30. Racing with your partners, family and fans in attendance always adds extra motivation to the driver to push harder and get more out of the car while sharing the excitement with everyone who came to see you. This was the case last year, when Louis-Philippe Dumoulin put on a great show on the way to a podium finish.
“L’Autodrome Chaudière represents a special event for us. The organizers put on a great show, and we get to race on a fun track in front of our families, our friend and all our fans. Last year the #47 WeatherTech Canada| Groupe Bellemare car fought for the win, and we are convinced that given the improved form we have displayed so far this season, we will be even closer to the lead than last year, especially on the most important lap, the last one. No doubt about it: Our goal is to win,” according to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
Autodrome Chaudière: The NASCAR Pinty’s Series visits several tracks that are modelled after famous United States short tracks. The Riverside International Speedway, for example, is modelled after the legendary Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tennessee). Similarly, The Autodrome Chaudière, AKA “The Small Quebec Bristol,” emulates the Bristol high banking (highest in Quebec) on a shorter (quarter-mile) oval layout.
“I really enjoy racing at Chaudière with its challenging geometry: Short, paved high banking wide enough to run quickly on the inside or the outside lane. Side-by-side racing makes for exciting shows for our partners, our fans and the spectators. Always lots of action here!” according to the driver of the #47WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare car.
A Two Part- 300 Lap Race: As the pits are situated on the outside of the track and difficult to access in racing conditions, the race is run in two segments, with a complete stop of racing activities at the midway point.
“The stop-work-restart process adds to the challenge and to the stress for every team and driver. We all leave the track and go to our trucks where we take on fuel and four tires over a five-minute period, as well as decide and apply any set-up changes to maximize performance over the last part of the race. The cars are then placed in the racing order from when the race was stopped, and the race is restarted for the last 150 laps,” explained Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
In addition, the cars are also allowed to pit under race conditions as required at any other time in the race.
