ANTIGONISH, NS (August 20, 2017)- DJ Kennington and the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team once again showed their muscle during round number ten of the 2017 NASCAR Pinty’s Series at Riverside International Speedway near Antigonish, Nova Scotia this past Sunday. Kennington started the race from pole position and crossed the finish line in third spot for his fourth podium finish of the season.
Right from the beginning of the Saturday practice Kennington felt his #17 Castrol Edge Dodge would be a strong contender.
“It’s good,” he said simply when asked about his ride. “With what we’ve been able to do on ovals this year I think we’ll be good for the race” he added.
Rain showers arrived at the Speedway and postponed the 300-lap feature event until the following afternoon. With the qualifying session rained out Kennington would start the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge on the pole Sunday afternoon by rule as he posted the quickest practice lap time.
The two-time winner at Riverside was also carrying a hand written note in his car that his 4-year-old son Chase had left for him.
“I leave the kids a note when I have to leave for a race and Chase wanted to leave one for me,” said the proud father.
Kennington would lead the first 36 laps in the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge before surrendering the lead.
