TROIS RIVIERES, QC (August 13, 2017)-  DJ Kennington and the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team returned to road racing action in round number nine of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres this past Sunday. Kennington posted a solid top-ten result at North America’s oldest road racing event.

During the Saturday practice session Kennington didn’t show the speed that the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge was capable of and the crew quickly went to work to make adjustments.

“We just weren’t as quick as I expected,” said Kennington. “Credit to the guys they did a good job and the car was better in qualifying” he added.

Kennington posted the seventh quickest time and would line up on the inside of row four in the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge for the 50-lap race Sunday afternoon. His approach to this event is always the same.

“Take it easy and be there at the end” he said when asked prior to the race.

His strategy once again paid off as Kennington kept the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge in position for a solid result.

“I always try to not work the brakes too hard and make sure that we can pick up some spots near the end of the race” he stated.

In the late stages Kennington maintained his consistent pace and brought the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge across the finish line in eighth position.

“Overall not a bad day” he said afterwards. “We came up with a decent finish, our eighth top-ten of the year and the car is in great shape. We’ll load up and head to Nova Scotia and get ready for next week”.

The #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team are back in action this coming Saturday August 17th at Riverside International Speedway
