PHOENIX, AZ (November 8, 2013) The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West will wrap up its 60th season at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, Nov. 9 and for 18-year old Kelly Admiraal it will be a chance to shine under the lights as he also slated to make his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
The Casino Arizona “50” event for the NASCAR K&N Series has attracted 34 entries, with drivers representing 13 states and three Canadian provinces and Admiraal is proud to be one of the drivers from Canada in the event.
“I have been waiting for Phoenix for a long time,” Admiraal said. “We let one get away in the spring and this is a chance to prove we can compete at the top.”
In the March race for the NKNPS, Admiraal was battling for a top five finish with less than five laps to go when his day ended when two other drivers wrecked in front of him blocking the track.
Admiraal is also slated to make the first of two scheduled starts this season in the #56 NNS entry for the newly formed Kapusta team with primary sponsorship from Western Camp Services. He will also compete at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 16th in the Ford Ecoboost 300 Nationwide finale.
NASCAR champion Craig Raudman is guiding the NASCAR K&N Pro Series effort and building a successful team for the Admiraal’s. “Kelly is really smart behind the wheel,” Raudman offered. “He listens and is learning what the car needs and is able to give us the feedback we need to make the car better. He has a lot of natural ability. Ian is also gifted and has been great to work with.”
