In just 2 days, Merrittville Speedway will open with Practice Day for all 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions. The Saturday April 21st Event may be one of the most important practices with three divisions in big events right off the start – the following week.
“We had some cars on the race track over the weekend with the BRP Driving School and a Saturday Night session,” informs (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “we had some good weather and the track came up in good shape – everyone will be getting geared up for the Spring Sizzler.”
Practice Day should provide Race Fans with something they have been waiting for since last fall – race cars on the track. For Race Teams – it’s Spring Training and the pre-season all wrapped up in a one day session to test out the new car and for many a new division.
While drivers representing the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites and Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders will be looking for all important seat time in preparation for the B&C Truck Centre and Blast Entertainment hosting of the 61st Season Opener Saturday May 5th – the balance of the Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions get their start April 28th.
2012’s Edition of the Spring Sizzler will see the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds in a $2,000 to win 50 lap Main Event, the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman in a 40 lap $700 to win affair and the Hoosier Stocks in a 30 lap tilt that opens their Duel on the Dirt Series against the Brighton Speedway Pro Stocks.
Race Teams should make note that the Pit Gates will open at 12 Noon April 21st for Inspection with the first Test and Tune Session scheduled for 5:00 PM. Grandstand Admission is free.
