CHESLEY, ON- When his family-owned Stade Motorsports team unloads in the Sauble pit area this afternoon, Josh Stade will enjoy a slim 1-point lead over defending Late Model champion Jason Parker. And, with only three points nights left until the 2015 champion is decided, Stade knows that a win tonight could be a significant boost for his championship aspirations.
“I believe in what we have, here,” says Stade in reference to his MEI Paving-backed team. “Everything we’ve learned in the last five seasons has helped us get to this point. We’re ready to make a run for this championship. It’s taken a long time for us to build this program up to the point where we can challenge the top teams at Sauble, but I know that our time is now”
The second-generation racer entered the season as a significant underdog, but has established a name for himself through a series of impressive performances all summer long.
“I’ve watched the veterans in this division dominate for a long time,” explains ‘Primetime’. “Jason Parker is one of the best racers in the province – but I think we’re good enough to beat him this season. This is as strong as our team has ever been. My family supports me, and my team is behind me every step of the way. We want this more than anyone”
“We’ve come too far to take a step back now,” continues the charismatic youngster. “We just need to keep working hard outside of the track and keep making smart decisions on the track. If we slip up, we could lose any chance we stand at winning this championship. I’m going to do everything in my power to keep that from happening”
As the son of a former Sauble Speedway champion, Josh is quick to offer just how much it would mean to him to be a part of the track’s history books.
“I’ve been coming to this speedway for my entire life – to be able to add my name to its history is everything I’ve ever wanted,” smiles Stade. “We’re well aware that these next three weeks aren’t going to be easy, but we’re ready to go that extra mile to make this happen. We want to this championship – and it’s going to take a lot to hold us back from it.”
