STROUD, ON (August 9, 2017)- On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Jordan Latimer led some laps en route to posting a top-10 finish in the pair of Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model features.
Starting 13th in the first 35-lap feature, he would make his way up to 11th by the first caution with 23 laps to go. From there on, he would battle hard, but was unable to make up much ground en route to posting a 12th-place finish.
Starting on the front row for the second feature, he grabbed the early lead ahead of the field, leading the opening six laps before being challenged by eventual feature winner Rick Spencer-Walt. The battle wouldn’t go as Latimer wanted, as he’d fall back to third by Lap 13. He continued to battle hard, though, remaining there till he was passed by a pair of cars on Lap 25, bumping him back to fifth.
He would battle with Nick Goetz for the spot, with Goetz getting it a couple laps later and bringing another competitor through to bump Latimer back to seventh with five laps to go. He would get passed for the seventh spot, and battled hard with Ernie Fumerton for the eighth position till the caution flew for an incident ahead of him. Restarting in seventh, he battled hard to the checkered flag, crossing the finish line in seventh.
Jordan Latimer will return to Sunset Speedway on August 26 in hopes of scoring his 11th top-10 of the season.
