STROUD, ON (August 31, 2017)- Jordan Latimer would put together a pair of solid runs at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night, running in the top-five in both 35-lap features.
The JL Motorsports driver started off the night solidly, qualifying fifth for the first event. He’d run fifth in the early stages, until he made contact with Travis Hallyburton on a Lap 3 restart.
Restarting at the tail of the field, Latimer began to make his way forward, breaking back into the top-10 before the next caution flew at Lap 19. He continued to move forward, getting alongside Kendra Adams for eighth with five laps to go. He would avoid a wreck ahead of him amongst the leaders to move up three more positions to fifth. He then got a good restart, making one more pass to cross the finish line in fourth.
Starting the second feature on pole, Latimer led all the way until the first restart with five laps to go, which saw him slip back into the runner-up spot behind Gord Shepherd. From there on, he ran competitively throughout the rest of the event, crossing the finish line in second.
Jordan Latimer will return to Sunset Speedway on September 2 in hopes of scoring his 13th top-10 of the season. There will be an autograph session at intermission, so be sure to come down on track to say hello to Jordan.
