March 25, 2012- After displaying their 2013 ride at the Frontenac Mall Racing Expo this past weekend, Jon Mills and the Hot Lick Racing team are ready to get their sophomore season underway. Mills will be on the track in just over two weeks, as they attend a practice session at Merrittville Speedway on April 13th, and will open their 2013 season at Merrittville just two weeks later.
With a new car, a fresh motor and a year of experience under them, the Hot Lick Racing team is very optimistic heading into their second year of competition in the DIRTcar Sportsman division. They hope to get off to a strong start, and consistently post top ten and top five finishes. The team also hopes they can earn their first ever win this season.
“The car show is great and it’s cool to talk to the fans and socialize with everyone, but we want to go racing. We have put a lot of work into the car over the winter, and it’s time to see what we can do on the track”.
The team will race at Brockville and Cornwall Speedway weekly in 2013, and will also follow the St. Lawrence Seaway Sportsman Series, with events at Brockville, Cornwall, Mohawk Raceway, as well as Autodrome Granby and Drummond in Quebec.
With virtually all of their 2012 sponsors back on board for another season, and a few new ones, Mills and his team are hoping to establish themselves as weekly contenders at all tracks that they go to.
Brockville Speedway opens on Saturday, May 4th for an open practice session, and will start the 2013 season on Saturday, May 11th. Cornwall Speedway opens on Sunday, May 19th.
