TORONTO, ON // MARCH 9, 2020 • Each year, show car co-ordinator Gary Challice is tasked with choosing a Featured Builder for the annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo.

For the 2020 edition of Motorama, running March 13, 14 & 15 at Toronto’s International Centre, Challice selected JH Restorations, a family-owned operation from Windsor, Ontario, to be the represented company.

Challice’s decision was made somewhat easier after viewing the automotive examples that JH Restorations had on display in Hall 1 at last year’s Motorama show, specifically a 1968 Camaro and the dramatic 1966 Mustang ‘ShockR,’ a rolling piece of incredible automotive craftsmanship that had previously turned heads at the world-famous SEMA show, in Las Vegas.

Previous projects emerging from the JH shops include a restoration of a 1966 Polara Ambulance, a highly customized, flat black 1948 Chevy ‘Top Chop & Scoop’ pickup truck and a 1947 Ford ‘Knightmare’ Coupe.
As the invited Feature Builder for this year, JH Restorations will be bringing four vehicles to the 2020 Motorama show floor. The display is located in Hall 2, not far from the Pinty’s Stage.

“We’ve been doing this for 15 years now, and for Motorama we wanted to show how we’ve progressed and how the industry has changed,” explained JH Restorations co-owner Jesse Henke. “One of the first builds we ever did was a ‘69 Javelin, which will be in Toronto. We have another ten-year-old build – a 1955 Ford Customline – that we’re bringing. And we’ll also haveone of our shop trucks, a ’67 long bed C15, in the display, as well. This truck will showcase how well new technology can be incorporated into an older vehicle.”

One of their most recent projects, a 1972 Nissan Skyline, will complete JH Restorations’ Motorama line-up, with this car destined for more upgrades as it will be headed to SEMA later this year.

Continued Henke, “Our slogan is ‘Remade in Canada’ and that applies to every project we do. We start with something ordinary and re-make it into something extraordinary. There is no pre-determined mindset when we start a project; everyone contributes something to the design.

“Most builders tend to have that A-type personality. Creative discussions can sometimes get a little heated, but we all keep in mind the end product is what really matters. In the end, it has to be the best work we can do.”

Jesse, his younger brother Jordan and several other JH Restorations staff members will be on hand to meet with fellow custom car builders and fans of the hobby at Motorama. Attendees will also be able to connect with Jesse Henke when he takes part in the Hot Rod discussion panel on Sunday afternoon on the Pinty’s Stage.

ABOUT JH RESTORATIONS: Working under the guidance of their ‘Re-Made in Canada’ motto, JH Restorations offers full Classic Car restorations, RestoMod and Hot Rod fabrications with the focus on 1960s to current Muscle Car and performance vehicles. From humble beginnings in 1979 when family patriarch Harry was rebuilding a 1969 Beaumont that was destined to be his daily-driver, JH Restorations came into being as a viable business when sons Jesse and Jordan, along with a talented staff of experienced experts, accepted the challenges of custom restorations and fabrications.
Expanding their automotive footprint several years ago, JH Restorations now sell restoration parts and performance accessories for all GM Muscle Cars and Classic Trucks, Mustangs and Street Rods. Fans are invited to discover more about JH Restorations by visiting their website, www.jhrestorations.ca.
