#GT3USA • @VIRNow •MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Jesse Lazare, the current points leader in the headline Platinum class of the IMSA-sanctioned Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, is heading into the penultimate race weekend of the 2016 season at VIRginia International Raceway. The Door Doctor driver enters the weekend with a 26 point lead.
“This is the most important weekend of the season so far,” the Kelly Moss Road and Race driver said. “As the calendar winds down, one bad race can ruin a season. The key is to take one race at a time, get the best result possible and move on to the next one.”
Lazare has had a solid year in his Garaga sponsored entry. “Like all teams, we have had our ups and downs this year. Right now we have hit our stride at the right time to finish off strong.”
Lazare’s seven-win season so far has been a breakout one for the 19 year old. “It has been a great year,” he said, “and now we have to finish it off strong to achieve our goals for the year.”
