NEW HAMBURG, ON- Jerrid Morphy’s Canadian Vintage Modified Rookie of the Year campaign will continue on June 7th, when Round 2 of the tour takes the Karting standout to Sunset Speedway – for his first career appearance at the immaculate 1/3 mile oval.
“This is one that was circled on our event from the day we brought this car home”, beams Morphy, “Sunset is one of the nicest facilities on the tour, I cannot wait to turn my first laps there”
The New Hamburg, ON driver will look to build off of a solid tour debut, in which he brought home a solid 12th place finish at Flamboro Speedway.
“Our race at Flamboro gave us a lot to think about”, explains the personable freshman. “We had an on-board camera with footage that I was able to back and review. Everything from my corner entry to how smooth I am on the wheel. We reviewed everything as a team to put forth a more complete package at Sunset”
Morphy has worked diligently to acquire as much seat time as possible between outings, including a recent testing session at Sunset.
“We knew coming into this deal that it was going to take a lot of practice to find our comfort level”, says Morphy. “I’ve taken every opportunity to hop in this car and grab a feel for it during open practice sessions. We tested at Sunset this week, and it went great. I feel comfortable with the speedway, and our setup is really starting to come together. I believe whole-heartedly we’ll have a top-10 car on June 7th”
