NEW HAMBURG, ON- Canadian Vintage Modified Rookie of the Year contender Jerrid Morphy will return to action this Sunday, August 17th at Flamboro Speedway in Round 9 of the 2014 schedule.
“Our team has been improving with each event, I’m very excited to be heading back to Flamboro Speedway”, smiles Morphy.
The former Karting champion currently leads the Canadian Vintage Modified rookie standings by 3 points – one of the closest freshman battles in recent memory.
“Winning the Rookie of the Year title was at the top of our priorities when we came into this season”, explains Morphy. “It’s been an up-and-down season, but I feel as though our program is as good as it’s ever been, right now, and we have what it takes to lock it up”
Morphy is coming off of a 13th place finish in his last Flamboro Speedway appearance, and has his sights set on breaking into the top-10 on August 17th.
“We had a lot of difficulty getting a handle on Flamboro at the beginning of the season, but we’ve been making huge gains as of late”, says Morphy. “Seat time has been invaluable to us. The more laps I put down at Flamboro, the better I feel”
“I’m very confident that we’ll have the right package to work our way to a top-10 finish this weekend”
