GRIMSBY, ON- Noted road course specialist Jeff Lapcevich will compete in July 26th’s ‘National 250’ at Autodrome St-Eustache, marking his first oval appearance of the 2014 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 season.
“It’s going to be great getting back to oval racing. I haven’t made a short track start since Kawartha last September”, explained Lapcevich.
“We managed a complete overhaul of our road course program in 2013, and it’s taken up the bulk of our focus. Between fine tuning our new road course chassis and making repairs as needed, our oval car has fallen by the wayside a bit”
Despite his relative oval inactivity in 2013, Lapcevich’s statistics were impressive, as the Fastline Motorsports representative compiled a pair of top-10s– including a 3rd place finish at Kawartha Speedway – in three races.
“Our oval program has always been stout, so it’ll be great to get back on track and see where we stack up against some of the guys that have been on a roll lately”
“For any racer, it’s always a treat to race in Quebec. The fans there have a unique kind of passion that makes the atmosphere a pretty incredible experience”, added Lapcevich.
