GRIMSBY, ON – After battling through mechanical issues at Delaware and The Speedway @ Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Fastline Motorsports driver Jeff Lapcevich has no qualms about returning to road course competition on July 7th at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec.
“Our program has been missing a little luck these last two events. My guys have put together such a fantastic oval package for us this season, but we can’t seem to keep the mechanical bugs from biting us. This is the perfect time to switch things up and look to our road course program”
Lapcevich opened up the 2013 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season in road course competition at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, crafting a masterful runner-up performance in a brand new chassis. The Grimsby, ON veteran anticipates an equally strong performance on July 7th, now that the team has had a chance to acclimate itself to the newer technology.
“Our road course chassis had a handful of practice laps on it before CTMP”, explained Lapcevich. “We didn’t really know what we had, and were still able to go out and challenge for a victory. Now that Chris [Couvillon] and the rest of the team are more familiar with this technology, I can’t wait to see what we’re able to put together for ICAR”
This Sunday will mark the 3rd visit in series history to the 2.113-mile circuit located 20 minutes north of Montreal. The Jiffy Lube 100 presented by Snap-on will measure 30-laps in length, covering a total of 63.37 miles, and will take the green at 1:30pm E.T..
