In front of his fans from Quebec, Jean-François Dumoulin will participate with determination to the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by Snap-On at Circuit ICAR, behind the wheel of the n°04 Bernier Crépeau/Bellemare/Manac/ACASS Dodge, his first race this season in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.
In 2012, he made spectacular catching up, moving forward from 26th place on the grid to the 7th spot at the finish line. Dumoulin Competition mechanical crew and Jean-Francois Dumoulin aim at the top-five for the race.
June 10th, Quebec Dodge dealers invited Dodge drivers from Quebec at Circuit ICAR for a private practice session. The team had the opportunity to refine the car setup for the race this weekend.
“In 2012, we didn’t have the chance to test before the event, and the NASCAR practice sessions took place under heavy downpour. It is a different situation this year, since we tested the car twice, including one time at Circuit ICAR. It is encouraging and we want to fight to finish among the leading pack”, said Jean-Francois Dumoulin, international driving instructor.
Driving instructor: During this week-end, Jean François Dumoulin will have to manage his time between driving the race car and coaching with Annie-Soleil Proteau, who carry on her challenge for Opération Enfant Soleil : to race in Canadian Touring Car Championship series (CTCC – B-Spec class). Like every race season, Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin are often asked for coaching by some race teams for high-level competitions or renowned driving schools. Along with racing in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS), Jean-Francois is a driving instructor with Speed Merchants Motorports, in Porsche Cup GT3 series.
Competition is fierce and since the beginning of their racing career, the Dumoulin brothers have never stop wanting to perform, no matter in which series. Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin always meet on the track with the same passion and fun they had at the beginning. Qualifications will take place on Saturday July 6th at 4:20 p.m. with the green flag waving on Sunday July 7th at 1:30 p.m.
