(June 3, 2017) Delaware, ON – Racer Jason White was back in action with his #21 Powder Ventures Dodge for round number two of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past Saturday night. At times the car was a handful to deal with but White persevered and the team was rewarded with an eighth place finish.
White felt good about the #21 machine following the afternoon practice session and qualified fourteenth on the grid.
“Would have liked to have been a little higher up but I felt we were good for the race” stated White.
There was action right off the start of the race with contact on the opening lap and White was able to maneuver his #21 ride around the problem. While avoiding one issue White began having another, the handling of the car wasn’t what he needed it to be.
“She was a handful and I was working hard just to hold on,” explained White.
It was a struggle for White just to maintain control and at one point the #21 Powder Ventures Dodge spun in corner one. While he did go down a couple of laps White never let up in his fight for positions.
“We got a chance to make a pit stop, get some tires and make a few adjustments and the car really came back to life again,” said White.
With a good amount of laps remaining White set about running strong and consistent laps in the #21 Dodge for the remainder of the event. With that he continued to improve his lot in the race and when the checkered flag waved he’d climbed his way up into an eighth place result.
“I’m super pleased with how the #21 car finished today. We got down some laps but once I got some tires and we made some adjustments, the car was really good. We just ran our own race and to come home with that kind of result and barely a mark on the car at Delaware, is pretty great.” said White.
Jason White’s next racing action will be next weekend as he returns to his racing roots with his family. White will joins his father, brother, uncle and cousin in a Super-Mod for Bob Wills racing. The White clan along with many friends will be racing at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC.
“I’m so looking forward to this,” said White. “This is how we all grew up racing together and it’ll be a blast”.
