TORONTO, ON (July 13, 2019)- Sun Peaks, BC racer Jason White’s strong season in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series continued at round number four this past Saturday. During the Pinty’s Grand Prix at Exhibition Place in Toronto during the Indy weekend, White powered his #21 World Financial Group Dodge to another top-ten result.
During the practice session White was pleased with the #21 World Financial Group Dodge and the team effort.
“This CBRT (Canada’s Best Racing Team) have given me cars that are a step above what I’ve had before and it’s allowing us to show what we can do” said White.
White would start the Pinty’s Grand Prix from the 11thstarting position in the #21 World Financial Group Dodge. It wasn’t long before he was inside the top ten and kept looking to make his way forward.
“The car was really strong again this week” said White. “I could really race with a lot of serious contenders” he added.
Continuing his charge White was had just made a pass for the eighth position when trouble struck the #21 World Financial Group driver. White had contact with the wall past turn five causing significant body damage to the car.
“I went through the corner on a slightly different line, then the car got wheel hopping and I hit the wall” said a frustrated White.
Bringing the #21 World Financial Group car to pitlane the crew quickly fashioned a makeshift solution that involved plenty of tape on the body work and sent him back into the race. White then used his skills to keep the car on track and scored a tenth-place finish.
“Great job by the team after the hit” said White. “Crew chief Larry Jackson was really on the ball and got the car fixed up as best they could. I’m so pleased to be working with this team, big thanks to World Financial Group for joining us this weekend. With top ten finishes in three of four races we’re eight in the points and I’m really excited to be heading out west and reaching my 100thseries start”.
Jason White and the #21 team head to Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon, SK for their next action, a double header event on Wednesday July 24th. The second race that evening will be White’s 100thcareer series start.
