PORT ELGIN, ON- With 3 wins to his credit this season, Jason Parker has established himself as a certified contender for the 2014 Sauble Speedway championship. With that distinction, ‘The New Age Punisher’ is more than ready to welcome the Sunset regulars to his backyard.
“I feel like we have this team has the best program we’ve had in years”, offered Parker when reached for comment about July 12th’s event, “so there’s no better way to gauge where we’re at than to race against some of the best drivers in the province”
“We love racing with the Sunset teams”, continued Parker. “I try and race at Sunset every chance I get because the quality of racing is so good there. The best part about this ‘Home and Home’ series, is that we get to race against the best Sunset has to offer and we don’t have to drive three hours home when we’re finished”
‘The New Age Punisher’ will enter this weekend’s event as Sauble’s Ltd. Late Model division point leader, after an incredible start to the season that has seen him visit victory lane 3 times, with not one finish coming outside of the top-2.
“It feels as though this car gets better every week”, said Parker. “But, we’re still working on it. Searching for ways to make it better. If you get complacent, that’s when you start to lose ground on your competition. We’re not going to let that happen”
The Port Elgin, ON-based driver has never won a ‘Home and Home’ series event, but hopes to put an end to that streak on Saturday.
“We were so close to winning this race last year, and just couldn’t put it together at the end”, explained Parker.
“This program is 100% different from where it was last season. This is the best car I’ve ever owned. The Sunset teams are some of the best around, but us Sauble regulars are pretty good at what we do too. Sauble’s an incredibly tough track to get ahold of, and I think the experience factor is going to make a huge difference on Saturday”
