@Sunset_Speedway •Stroud, ON (July 22, 2016)- After running up front the majority of Saturday night’s feature, Jade Franklin came up just short, finishing third for the second time in his young career.

Franklin started off the night with some contact during his heat, resulting in a ninth place finish. He came back out for the b-main, finishing fifth to set himself up for the 30-lap feature.

Starting from the seventh spot, Franklin quickly began making ground with a pass to sixth on Lap 2. He’d avoid a spin up ahead of him to make his way up into the top-five.

Following the restart, he was able to continue to make up ground, battling Stefan Semeraro for third at Lap 11. Franklin then took the spot on Lap 12. He’d continue to run third while the leaders battled ahead of him, till getting alongside Stan Coe for the runner-up spot at Lap 25. The caution then flew two laps later, though, for Dustyn Mombourquette stopping in turn four.

Franklin battled hard on the restart, holding off Jordan Howse to finish the feature in third.

Notably, it marks his seventh straight top-10 to start the 2016 season.
