Stroud, ON (June 24, 2017)- Battling hard throughout the 30-lap feature at Sunset Speedway, Jade Franklin just missed scoring a top-10 finish.
Franklin started off the night solidly, finishing fifth in the first heat, followed by a ninth in the second qualifier after being sent to the back as an involved car at Lap 5.
Starting the feature in the sixth position, he would fade back in the early laps, falling back to 15th by Lap 7. He would avoid a wreck on the restart, allowing him to move up a spot to 14th with 22 laps to go. When chaos ensued on the restart with the leader being spun, he escaped turn three and four without any damage, moving up to the 10th spot.
Restarting inside the top-10, he battled hard through the second half of the race, but fell back to 12th by Lap 27. He was then passed by Coltin Everingham in the final laps, crossing the finish line in 13th.
The Jaded Motorsports team is set to keep digging this week in hopes of scoring their third top-10 of 2017 in the next night of competition.
