The London, ON driver earned his first career weekly championship this season – doing so just weeks after winning Flamboro Speedway’s Grisdale Triple Crown championship. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series fan favourite Jason Hathaway (above, by Greg MacPherson) earned a podium finish in the final series event of 2014 at Kawartha Speedway on Saturday, September 20th. His 3rd place finish in the ‘Pinty’s 250’ marked the 5th top-3 finish of Hathaway’s season. Post-race, we caught up with the Ed Hakonson Racing representative, and he spoke about his up-and-down season, his championship hopes and thoughts on the 2015 season. Veteran Jeff Lapcevich overcame a poor qualifying effort to salvage a 6th place finish in the ‘Pinty’s 250’ on Saturday, September 20th. Post-race, Lapcevich was candid about his possible plans for the 2015 season, and what the future may hold for his talented 14-year old son Cayden (above, by Greg MacPherson). Saturday’s Pinty’s 250 also saw the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut of Late Model champion Dwayne Baker (above, by Dan Little). ‘The Bully’ campaigned an entry for longtime sponsor Gord Coates, and will be one to keep an eye on should he pursue additional dates with the series.
