The Hudco Electric 300 at Barrie Speedway provided the perfect stage for Jason Hathaway’s 2nd NASCAR Canadian Tire Series win of 2013. The Dutton, ON veteran held off several late race charges from DJ Kennington and JR Fitzpatrick, claiming the first Barrie Speedway win of his NCATS career. We caught up with Hathaway (above, by Greg MacPherson) in tech lane, and asked about his recent hot streak and the upcoming NCATS season finale at Kawartha Speedway. 2013 Delaware Speedway ‘Great Canadian 200’ winner Matt Pritiko (above, by Thompson Photography) has announced he will return to Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic on October 11th, 12th and 13th. The London, ON driver was involved in a phenomenal late-race battle with eventual winner Mike ‘Lights Out’ Bentley and veteran Brad Corcoran that drew rave reviews from fans. Pritiko becomes one of the first top-tier Pro Late Model competitors confirmed for ‘the Classic’, in what is expected to be a field full of championship-level contenders from across Ontario. 2013 Peterborough Speedway Thunder Car champion Donny Beatty (above, by Ashley McCubbin) has filed entry for Barrie Speedway’s ‘Garry Reynolds Memorial’ event on September 21st. The Beaverton, ON veteran enjoyed a dream season at Peterborough, earning multiple feature victories in a newly purchased McColl Racing Enterprises chassis. Beatty will compete alongside Barrie Speedway championship contender Darryl St. Onge, promising up-and-comer Travis Hallyburton, rookie contender ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Sikes and others in the 50-lap main event.
