In the March 19th edition of Spencer Lewis’ Short Track Notebook, we take our first look at TQ Midget champion Mack Deman’s Crate Sprint Car, chat with Andrew Gresel about the 2015 APC United Late Model Series, unveil Ryan Fraser’s brand new TQ Midget and take an in-progress look at what Kevin Gallant is preparing for this year at Flamboro.

Here’s our first look at 2014 Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midget champion Mack Deman’s ride for the 2015 Ohsweken Speedway season. The second-generation star will pilot a Crate Sprint Car for Barr Motorsports in his first foray into dirt competition. The Mississauga, ON native joins fellow asphalt converts Josh Shantz and Steve Lyons on the talent-packed roster. Deman’s fulltime effort will be made possible thanks to Lucas Oil, Fast Track Performance, Centre Line Elevator, Paragon Collision, Velocity Signs, Stricklands GM, Campbell Specialty Metals and Barr Motorsports. Ohsweken’s 2015 season will kick off on May 15th. Details, including gate times and ticket prices, can be found at www.OhswekenSpeedway.com. Deman will have his brand new ride on display at the Speed & Custom Car Show in London this weekend.

We recently had the chance to chat with 2014 OSCAAR Super Late Model champion Andrew Gresel (above, by Dan Little). The second-generation star will focus on the upstart APC United Late Model Series in 2015. We asked Gresel about his newly reinvigorated Pro Late Model program, why he chose to follow the APC series, what level of competition he expects to be matched against on the tour and how many Super Late Model events he hopes to attend this season. Click here for the video, and follow Gresel and his team on Twitter @SaubleFalls81.

OSCAAR Modified Tour Rookie of the Year candidate John Baker Jr. debuted his new ride at the 2015 Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. Baker’s ride was formerly piloted by OSCAAR veteran Rudy Oppersma as a Super Late Model and has been retrofitted to confine to Modified regulations. The Marksmen Club, Mills Pontiac Buick GMC, Ajax Muffler & Automotive, Oshawa Hearing Aid Clinic, Fotheringam Bookkeeping, Ray’s World of Vending, Praxair of Oshawa, Carstar of Cobourg and John Baker’s Auto will provide primary support for Baker’s inaugural touring campaign.
