In the July 23rd edition of Spencer Lewis’ Short Track Notebook, we follow up with Pro Late Model stars Jesse Kennedy, Cole Powell and Dale Shaw after a wild 3rd round in the APC Six Pack Series at Delaware Speedway. We also catch up with short track veteran Tyler Liscum, who has returned to fulltime Sunset competition in 2014 with an aggressive twin-division schedule and announce the return of a multi-time Flamboro Speedway feature winner.
OSCAAR Super Late Model regular Jesse Kennedy returned to Pro Late Model competition at Delaware Speedway on July 18th for Round 3 of the APC Six Pack Series. The Southwold, ON veteran took the victory in a wild 100-lap event, and took the time to chat with us post-race about the finish. 2013 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Rookie of the Year Cole Powell (above, by Thomson Photography) finished 2nd to Kennedy in the 100-lapper, after a hotly contested final lap that saw the pair race side by side before making contact in turn-4. Flamboro Speedway veteran David Elliott has announced he will return to fulltime Late Model competition through the back half of the 2014 schedule. The second-generation star, who has 1 win in 2 starts this season, will compete this Saturday, July 26th in Round 4 of the APC Six Pack Series at Flamboro. In addition to his fulltime Flamboro committments, Elliott has confirmed he will be in the field at Delaware Speedway on September 20th for the Great Canadian Race.
