@NewHumberstone •PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO (August 14, 2016) St. Catharines, Ontario’s Justin Sharp was the winner in the main event for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman on Pinty’s Delicious Foods Night at the Humberstone Speedway. For Sharp, it was his first win of the season. Rob Pietz from Gasline, Ontario won his fourth feature of the season for the Pinty’s Delicious Foods RUSH Late Models. Rob Murray from St. Catharines, Ontario won his sixth JC Auto Street Stock feature of the season. Dylan Llord from St. Catharines, Ontario earned his eighth win of the season in the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks. Jason Coutu from St. Catharines, Ontario picked up his first win of the season in the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks. Nick Masi won his second Eve of Destruction Enduro qualifier. With his second place efforts in the Enduro, “Smokey” Steve Robison is now qualified for the Eve of Destruction, set for Sunday September 25th.
Each feature winner received free Wings from Pinty’s Delicious Foods
Justin Sharp and Cody McPherson led the 23 car field of PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman to the green flag for their 25 lap feature event and it was Sharp showing the way. Adam Leslie, Jay Mallory and John Babion got hooked up on the front straightaway to bring out the races first caution on lap one. On the restart, Sharp continued to show the way over McPherson, Mastrioanni, Chevalier and Davidson running in the top five. McPherson would use the outside line and would take over the lead on lap seven. Sharp would regain the lead just one lap later. Sharp, McPherson, Brad Rouse and Chevalier battled for the lead throughout the rest of the main event. On a lap 18 restart, Sharp, McPherson and Rouse running in third and the top three would battle for the lead. McPherson would catch Sharp for the lead and would battle with two to go. Sharp would hold off McPherson and Rouse to score the win, Chevalier, and Davidson would complete the top five.
Bruce Hordusky Jr and Colton Ledingham brought the field of Pinty’s Delicious Foods RUSH Late Models to the green flag for their main event and it was Hordusky showing the way over Ledingham and Rob Pietz. Pietz would take the lead away from Hordusky at the end of the first scored lap and would open up his advantage over the rest of the field. Sam Pennacchio and Dennis Lunger Jr battled for third while catching runner up Hordusky. Pietz would continue to show the way at the halfway mark with Hordusky, Pennacchio, Lunger and Ledingham running in the top five. Pietz would drive away from the rest of the field in route to his fourth win of the season. Lunger would take second away from Hordusky on the final lap to grab second. Hordusky, Pennacchio and Ledingham would complete the top five.
Jim Lampman led the first lap in the 20 lap feature for the JC Auto Street Stocks. Chris Crawford would take the lead on lap two as Adam Ferri battled Rob Murray for second place. Andrew Reece, Mike Miller, Vince Fargnoli all got together in turn four to bring out the races first caution on lap four. Rob Murray would take the lead away from Crawford on lap five Adam Ferri continued to run in third. Bailey and Ferri made contact down the front stretch and both spun to bring out the yellow once again on lap eight. Murray and Crawford continued to battle for the lead at the halfway point. Crawford would regain the lead on lap 11 as Pelrine reeled in the lead duo. Dave Bailey moved back up through the field and would take over fourth with five laps remaining. Chris Crawford spun in turn three while in the lead to bring out the caution on lap 17, giving the lead back to Murray with Pelrine and Bailey running in the top three. The lead trio battled up until the checkered flag fell and it was Murray holding off Pelrine and Bailey to score the win.
Chris Ryckman and Mike Sarantakos led the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks with Ryckman showing the way. Jason Coutu raced into second with Leroy Buscumb running in third. Ryckman and Coutu pulled away from the field off a lap three restart Tom Neale spun in turn four to bring out the caution on lap six. Ryckman continued to lead over the field with Coutu and Evan Curtis running in the top three. Coutu would use the inside groove to take the lead away from Ryckman with three laps remaining. Leroy Buscumb made it a three car battle for the win. Coutu would regain the lead down the back stretch and would hang on to score the win, his first of the season.
Danny Wurster and Jaime Ayers brought the field of Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks to the green flag for their 15 lap feature go and it was Wurster showing the way early on. Ayers ran second with Andy Imbeault running in third with Taylor Vanderzanden and seven time feature winner Dylan Llord running in fifth. Llord would take second away from Ayers and then challenged Wurster for the lead at the halfway point. Llord would take the lead away from Wurster on lap nine, Wurster would spin in turn four on lap 10 to bring out the races first caution of the event. Llord would lead off the restart with Vanderzanden running in second with Craig Vlasic running in third. Llord would go on to score the win over Vanderzanden

Young fan Shania was Lucas Oil/Leslie Motorsports Jr Fan Members of the Week. Shania received a prize pack from Lucas Oil and Leslie Motorsports. As part of being the Jr. Fan Member of the week, Shania said “the most famous words in Motorsports” as well as got the chance to ride in the Pace Car and get picture taken with each of the feature winners in Epic Racewear Victory Lane! The Jr Fan of the Week can pick up their photos the following week courtesy of Soft Touch Images.
Racing continues on Sunday August 21st as the Verge Insurance Group presents the TUSA Mr. Dirt Modified Lite Tour. A full racing program of the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman, Pinty’s Delicious Foods RUSH Late Models, JC Auto Street Stocks, Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks and the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks will also be on the card.
Gates will open up at 4:30pm with racing getting underway at 6:30pm sharp.
