July 28, 2013- St Eustache, Quebec- Returning to the eastern part of Canada, Jason Hathaway and his #3 Snap-on Tools/ Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge ventured to the tight 4/10 mile oval of Autodrome St Eustache, north of Montreal, Saturday night for the National 250 with hopes of keeping the team’s momentum alive!

Hathaway posted a solid effort in practice and secured a mid-field starting spot for the race.

Having recorded some great finishes at this track when he was ran late models he was confident in his car and the team’s chances.

“This was my home track in 2003 when I ran five CASCAR Sportsman races, and I feel pretty good about our car and what we can do tonight,” said Hathaway.

Hathaway got right to the job at hand in the 250 lap main event and started to make his way through traffic, picking cars off one at a time as he charged towards the front. By lap 50, Hathaway was posted in the fourth spot.

Just after the half-way point of the race, lap 133, Hathaway took the lead and dominating the field with some blistering laps, lapping all but two of the 19 car field. His lap times were awesome and he was just riding around recording laps in his super quick race machine.

After taking tires on 186, Hathaway felt something give way in the back of the car. The team brought Hathaway down pit road and diagnosed a broken rear end bracket. The crew took the car behind pit wall and they went to work installing a new bracket and getting him back on track.

Hathaway returned to the track to pick up as many points as he could and did a great job doing so. He finished 14th, collecting enough points to keep him in the fourth spot and still in the hunt for this Championship battle.

“We had another car that should have won tonight, that is for sure. The car was great and things were going the right way strategy wise. It’s hard to take, but parts failures are part of the racing game. It’s one of those things that happen and you just have to repair them and get back at it. Our crew did just that and kept us in the point’s battle. We come to win every weekend and the way we have been running it’s only a matter of time,” said Hathaway after the race.

The National 250 presented by Public Mobile will air on TSN at 11 a.m. EST on Sunday, Aug. 4. The French-language telecast will air on RDS2 at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 24 and at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 25 on RDS.

In other team news; Jason Hathaway and his car were on site on Friday before heading to Montreal in Barrie, Ontario along with the Team from Rockstar to support a new store opening at McEwen Fuels on Dunlop Street. It was a great event and Hathaway got to meet lots of fans signing autographs and support a new business venture that is excited to be showcasing Rockstar Energy Drinks!
