@JasonHathaway3 • @NASCARHomeTrack • MIRABEL, QUEBEC-July 5, 2015- Starting deep in the 23 car field due to a necessary equipment change, Hathaway focused on working his way through the 12 turn road course in his #3 Agna Brakes/Fast Eddie Racewear/HGC Chevrolet to accumulate points and maintain his lead of the 2015 Championship points battle.
During qualifying on Saturday afternoon, Hathaway picked up a driveline vibration and elected to make a change, giving up his starting position and started at the rear of the field.
As soon as the green flag dropped on Sunday afternoon Hathaway went to work right away passing six cars and settled into 17th spot on Lap 1. The race went green for the entire 30 lap distance and Hathaway worked to set up each car in front of him, landing in 11th place when the checkered flag fell.
Hathaway did what he needed to do in this race and accumulated the precious points needed in the Championship battle. With his 11th place finish, Hathaway maintained his points lead as the Team heads out on the annual western swing.
“We struggled with the car this weekend, but we pulled it together when it counted. We started at the back and we did a good job getting back up towards the front!” Said Hathaway after the race. “We had a new sponsor this week on our quarter panel and we want to thank Gary from Agna Bakes for his help.”
The Team will have a quick turn around and head west for the first race at Edmonton International Raceway July 11th and then on to Auto Clearing Motorspeedway on July 15th.
The telecast for the ECKO Unlimited 100 from ICAR will premiere on TSN on July 11th at 1 p.m. and on RDS2 at 2 pm.
