Toronto, QC, (July 15, 2017)- Kevin Lacroix established a hat trick earlier today by winning all three road course races in the NASCAR Pinty’s 2017 season. Indeed, the Saint-Eustache driver brought the car to victory lane during the Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto, taking place during the Toronto Indy.
It is because of Don Thomson Jr. and the Bumper To Bumper team that Kevin was able to impose himself as one of the leaders for the race. After issues on the last lap of the qualifying session on Friday, Lacroix still managed to come in 3rd, behind two fierce competitors. The team was able to quickly fix the car.
The driver of the #74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Go Fast/PFC Brakes/Gates Corporation car made an excellent start by moving directly to the top position at the first corner. He was not able to hold this place for long, but was still in the rear bumper of the 2nd competitor. Early in the event, an incident between the two leaders made the driver’s task easier to take the lead.
Comfortably sitting in pole position, Kevin led the rest of the race to clinch his third checkered flag of the season. With his victory during the season opener at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, his first-place finish last weekend at the Ecko Unlimited 75 at ICAR and this Saturday’s result, Kevin Lacroix signs a hat trick of victories on road courses.
“This victory gives us a significant gap in the driver’s championship,” says Kevin Lacroix who now holds 222 points, a 13-points gap on the runner-up. “When I became the leader of the race, I felt Marc-Antoine Camirand’s presence behind me, but I wasn’t worried because I know he is a respectful driver and that he wouldn’t try something dangerous on me.”
Kevin wants to thank his sponsors Bumper to Bumper, Total, Go Fast, PFC Brakes and Gates Corporation, a partnership between growing companies that represent excellency, ambition and victory. “I want to thank all the Bumper To Bumper folks that came out to see the race. It is a dynamic and passionate team with which it is always a pleasure to collaborate with.”
Kevin Lacroix’s next race will be a double-header during the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s presented by Bayer at the Wyant Group Raceway in Edmonton.
